Getting to know me...
Hey everyone! My name is Alex Telson. I’m a mother to two smart and beautiful girls and am married to a wonderful man who makes me laugh every day. I live in Huntington Beach, California, adore flowers, and I absolutely love, love, love coffee and desserts (pie, cake, pastries, cookies, ice cream and donuts… I’m not picky 😊).
Throughout my life, I’ve been trying to figure out the answer to that one question my first grade teacher asked the class, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” After much thought, I finally had my answer… a Floral Designer!
Unfortunately, I figured this question out after I turned 40. But like they say, it’s never too late to follow your dreams!
In 2015, I decided to make that dream a reality and began taking courses, studying flowers and experimenting with arrangements. And from there, Alex Telson Designs was born.
Working with flowers truly makes my soul shine. The days that I get to touch and create with flowers are the days that I feel most alive. My favorite part of creating a new design is not only picking out which flower I want to use, but also maneuvering through the mechanics of the design so that each flower seamlessly works together to create a beautiful, one-of-a-kind arrangement.
Much like my clients, no two flowers are the same. Each petal, leaf and stem is unique in color, shape and size and needs to be carefully evaluated to determine if it works within the arrangement. To truly design something special takes time and forethought – and it is that same dedication to details that I take with every one of my clients.
Join me and my floral journey on my blog where I share arrangements from weddings, birthdays, showers, and social events. I will also be featuring how-to, step-by-step arrangements so that I can share the joy that flowers have brought me with you! My guides are meant to help you explore your creativity by demonstrating how anything I do, you can do too with flowers from wholesalers, Trader Joe’s flowers, or flowers cut on the side of the road.
Each quarter, I will send out a Newsletter that gives you an inside look at what is going on in the floral world, what I have been working on, what’s trending this season... and I may end up giving the occasional coffee shop recommendation 😉.
I am so excited to share all the ins and outs of the floral world with you. Sign up today!
